Warmer weather fun stuff!

The weather here in Southern Ontario is FINALLY starting to warm up and I could not possibly be happier about it. Finally the shovels are put away, hopefully until the fall. This is Ontario after all and we never know what Mother Nature will throw at us. I clearly remember a race weekend about 3 years ago when we had a snowball fight while lining up cars to go out on track to race. Yeah. Welcome to Ontario!

Now that it is warming up though, this is the time to get outside and shake the dust off. Your ‘NP’ friends (Non-Mom Speak for New Parent) and ‘KV’ friends (Kid Veterans) want to out and to be honest, quiet strolls just don’t tend to work. Why not head out and try to recapture some of both of your childhood’s?

If you are anything like me, you look forward to trips to these places you loved as a kid but haven’t been to in ages because you feel silly ‘at your age’. Now that your friends have kids though, all bets are off, go and enjoy with them. And don’t forget the camera!

One of my personal favourites is the Toronto Zoo. For me, it’s a great day of exercise. My hubby and I went last week just the two of us and walked over 8 km’s! I think I may have got my 10,000 steps that day that is recommended by health professionals. Tiger

For the kids, its a great way to stretch their legs (for the toddlers) or for the littlest ones to take it all in in the comfort of their stroller. For the ‘NP’ or ‘KV’ its a great way to spend time and not have to worry overly about the level of noise of activity of the kids: why? Everyone else’s are doing the same thing!

Remember comfortable shoes, sunblock and water. Also, note that at the zoo there are no straws when you buy a drink or forks. If you want to use them, bring your own that you can take home again.
