A Night at the Four Seasons featuring Daniel Boulud

A couple of weeks ago, I apologize for the delay, I was beyond fortunate enough to be invited to the introduction of the ‘Opening in 2012’ new Four Seasons Toronto chef, Daniel Boulud.

The event took place at the presentation centre and wow, utterly gorgeous venue! We were treated to an open look at the model suite and it was the epitome of style and class with simple elegance. I was very impressed.Four Seasons Toronto

The hotel, which includes some residences, will open in 2012 and this evening was planned to celebrate their bringing in of Chef Boulud.

Daniel Boulud is world-renowned, Michelin rated and hails from Lyon, France. He is a chef foremost, but also an author and operates restaurants worldwide. In March of this year he won the Culinary Institute of America “Chef of the Year” Augie Award celebrating the success and achievement of the industry’s best and brightest who exemplify a tradition of innovation and leadership.Chef Daniel Boulud Four Seasons Toronto

During the evening we were treated to various appetizers with unique pairings of sweet and savoury as well as texture combinations I would never have thought of in ingredients. My favourite remains the boconcini layered with a basil leaf that you eat while squeezing a tiny vial of tomato juice! The prosciutto-wrapped asparagus with I believe it was provolone was also divine!

Cafe Boulud, along with a street level bar, will open with the venue in 2012 and promises to bring locals and visitors together. It will be a more casual location than the Chef’s other restaurants and will ‘float above the bar in a cosy loft-like setting with large windows looking out into Yorkville’.

In addition to 259 guest rooms and suites and 210 Private Residences like the model we were in, the hotel will, for the first time in the city, feature a full-service Four Seasons Spa.

I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking special girls weekend in the city with this one. 😉

I was lucky enough to chat with Dimitrio Zarikos, Regional VP and GM of the new hotel and could not get over how genuinely enthusiastic he and the rest of the Four Seasons staff and representatives were about the project.

Normally I would get a little bit intimidated at an event like this, me being from the suburbs and all, but everyone was welcoming and kind and was more than happy to talk about the project. While the name ‘Four Seasons’ may intimidate some, I assure you, the Cafe and bar will definitely be geared towards welcoming all.

While the menu is not set for the new restaurant yet, I assure you the rest of the hotel is just waiting to open it’s doors with the luxury and quality that is, Four Seasons.

If you would like to see the rest of the photos, including those of the presentation centre (and I assure you I am in love with many aspects of the design), please click here and check them out on my Facebook page!

Until then, Bon Appetit!
