Review: Playskool Show Cam…Too Much Fun!

Playskool Show Cam

Going along with my attempts to be organized early for the 2013 Holidays, I am continuing my series on cool stuff for this year. The Playskool Show Cam definitely fits that bill.

First off, it’s uber-durable, which it needs to be for the age group it’s aimed at. Even the batteries have to be installed by an adult and are screwed into their compartment, that’s good planning in my books!

The camera takes digital pictures, even mimics an SLR in appearance, and not only can the kids add animations and fun effects to their photo masterpieces on the camera itself, but they flick a switch and the camera becomes a projector on the wall! I had far too much fun with this and got silly pictures of the cats and then projected them…and then they of course tried to ‘catch’ them.  Fun with cats, a bonus feature for sure! 😉

The buttons are pretty self-explanatory, even for the little ones, and to help them feel even more grown up, the camera does have a USB port on the bottom so the pictures can be downloaded to a computer just like the big kids.

The animations that the kids can add to the photos include action and sound and are just far too adorable and funny. I can absolutely see this being something they use over and over to create their own shows and movies. I of course added the disco dancer one to Nondad’s picture. I giggled, he rolled his eyes at me and smiled.

A definite ‘must check out’ for the budding photographer or tech-savvy-to-be munchkins.

Happy picture-taking!
