Balance to avoid burnout: Goal!

In keeping with my quest to keep organized for the holidays, I am including a component for combating holiday burnout.

I’m making a plan. It’s a flexible one, but I think even knowing I have it will help. I’m going for balance this year.

As you read in my previous post, I had started my shopping and the cards. The cards are now almost done and will be ready to go out as planned and the shopping is going really well with only a couple more gifts to buy…I love online shopping incidentally ;).

I’m setting a goal for myself of having all of the cards and shopping done by, gasp, December 1st. Stocking stuffers may run longer, but that’s easy peasy relatively speaking. Then I want the entire month to relax, decorate and craft and actually enjoy the season. I am also (with the exception of hearing one particular song and listening to it) NOT listening to any Christmas music until at least December 1st. In stores doesn’t count, I can’t control that. I do so love the season and I want to get caught up in it this year, I really think this will help me out.

I’m also not going to put pressure on myself to have all of my decorations out. I kinda have a lot of them. But my Nutcracker dolls will absolutely be on display, I love them and it just isn’t Christmas without them. 😉
